Renton Downtown Partnership – April 2016 Clean-up
April 23, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Renton Downtown Partnership (Renton Main Street Program) is initiating a new effort to beautify the downtown core by holding frequent clean-ups.
The volunteer Downtown Cleaning Crew will have its soft launch on Saturday, April 23rd, from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m.
The clean-up that day will concentrate on the blocks located between Burnett and Main, and S 2nd and S 4th.
We will have two shifts: 9 a.m.-Noon and Noon-3 p.m.
Prior to the clean-up, the on-sidewalk waste receptacles will be power-washed by the City in the coming week.
At the clean-up on the 23rd, equipment will be provided for volunteers to pick up trash, sweep sidewalks and gutters, and generally tidy up along the sidewalk and alley areas.
We would also like volunteers to drop into businesses to meet the owners and engage them in helping with future clean-ups.
As someone who previously volunteered to serve on a Partnership committee, you are invited to re-engage with our organization through a tangible project that will show immediate improvement in the downtown area. Making Downtown “clean and safe” is one of the Partnership’s three priorities for 2016.
If you’d like to volunteer and help out, please email me the shift that you would like to serve. Don’t worry if you cannot make the entire shift–an hour of your time will do a lot to improve the appearance of Renton’s Downtown.
On the day of, all you have to do is show up at the Renton Chamber of Commerce (625 S 4th Street) for a little instruction and an assignment. And of course, to have some fun!
The Partnership is excited to kick off the downtown cleaning effort, and hope that you will become involved!
